Tower 42, Old Broad St EC2 7877 7842

This is the place for an eagle’s-eye view of the City. See it all laid at your feet while sipping champagne and supping on seafood 590 feet above the pavement on the 42nd floor of the old NatWest tower. This is a great place to watch the sun set and the lights come on. No tables as such, but low or high shelves running around the room, all facing out with floor to ceiling mirror behind. And for those who would like to see all the better, blue binoculars are thoughtfully provided. There is a fairly thorough champagne list, with seven by the glass, along with champagne cocktails. To keep one from falling over, there’s oysters, sushi, caviar, lobster, crab, salmon and other piscine choices, all fairly well done. But you know why you’re going there.
